HORIZONTAL MACHINES
HORIZONTAL MACHINES ARE IDEAL FOR FULLY AUTOMATED PRODUCTION. THE DESMA HORIZONTAL SERIES RANGES FROM 100 TO 700 METRIC TONS
DESMA Horizontal machines (called 969 series) are ideal for automated production that incorporates brushing devices for part, runner system and waste removal. Horizontal machines clamping station opens and closes parallel to the ground including a movable and a fixed bolster. The fixed bolster typically incorporates the injection unit. Our horizontal machines start at 100 metric tons in clamping force and can range up to 700 tons. Heating platen size ranges from 320 x 400 mm up to 900 x 1200 mm. DESMA horizontal machines can be equipped with options such as dual core lifting devices that can also serve to open and manipulate mold plates to ensure article retention for automation repeatability.

DESMA Horizontal machines (969 series) are ideal for the automated production of elastomer articles. These machines are frequently equipped with handling or brushing devices for part, runner system and waste removal. This arrangement, together with an appropriate tooling system, is an excellent solution for applications like the production of seals and other articles which can be produced with minimal human intervention. Processes such as direct injection (hot or cold runner), injection transfer (hot or cold pot), and injection compression are all fully supported on DESMA 969 machines when options are selected accordingly.
These machines are available in either the standard (S1) or optional (S3) configuration which includes ServoGear hydraulics to increase operating efficiency and nearly eliminate noise. Selection of optional multi-axis hydraulic drives minimizes cycle times by enabling multiple parallel movements.
Key to the DESMA horizontal machine is the rigid 4-tie bar clamping station designed with generous spacing and opening strokes. This design concept ensures the machines to be durable in the long term while having the highest process repeatability. Both characteristics are especially important when considering fully automatic production.
The DESMA Sealmaster 969 machines are specially designed for the production of precision seals. These machines include an oversized hydraulic clamping system related to the platen size making them the best choice for the most demanding precision sealing applications.
DESMA provides automation systems for the 969 series machines which are custom designed to the customer and application. These systems often include servo driven axes with multiple options for brush types, gripper systems, automated mold release application, and mold monitoring.
The injection units employed on the 969 series machines are the FIFO-B and FIFO-C types with or without silicone stuffer. The FIFO-B enables the ability to retract the injection nozzle from the mold, while the FIFO-C is well suited for small injection volumes.

ServoGear
With its energy-saving drive, ServoGear hydraulics defines the industry standard for rubber injection molding machines.
FLEXINTEROCK
Setting freely programmable core pull locks yourself is made uncomplicated by FlexInterlock.
iNJECTION UNITS
The FIFO-B injection unit with integrated hydraulic nozzle lift is used in particular for DESMA horizontal machines. In principle, this injection unit is also optimally suited for injection molding machines with lateral injection into the mold parting line (T series).

The FIFO-C injection unit is ideal for the smallest to medium injection volumes. Due to the fixed nozzle, a very short nozzle length is given. Our FIFO-C is the standard injection unit for C-frame injection molding machines and small DESMA horizontal machines.

QuickLock
The hydro-mechanical quick clamping system QuickLock also makes ‚hot‘ mold changes possible within a few minutes. In combination with DESMA preheating units, set-up times can thus be significantly minimized and the productivity of the injection molding machines increased.
